We are currently in a transition and integration process as PMOGA becomes a part of the PMI family, and we understand that this transition may raise questions, and we want to assure you that our commitment to transparency and clarity remains unwavering.

We are diligently working to ensure a smooth alignment of PMOGA with PMI's strategy, our new home. While it may not be a simple or immediate process, we are confident that, with time, we will ensure that PMOGA continues to thrive and serve our global PMO community effectively as part of the PMI ecosystem.

At this moment, we may not have all the answers; however, we want to emphasize our commitment to keeping you informed.

During the first quarter of 2024, we will provide comprehensive updates addressing all the key points that require clarification for our members, volunteers, leaders, credential holders, and partners. In the meantime, below, you can explore what we have already shared about some recurring topics in our community.

Leadership & Culture

We are excited about the fantastic opportunity to be part of the world's largest professional project management organization and, as part of the PMI family, PMOGA will continue to be led by its founder, Americo Pinto, now as a member of the PMI executive team.

Americo will serve as the Managing Director of PMOGA at PMI and will be the primary leader in charting PMOGA's path in the coming years to create a true legacy for the global PMO community.

Our overarching goal is to maintain the successful elements that have made PMOGA a global leader in the PMO realm.

We aim to expand the reach of our initiatives, maximize the impact of the benefits, and position PMI as a leading organization in the field of PMOs.

Together, we will leverage this unique opportunity to further strengthen and enhance our contributions to the global PMO and project management community.

Membership

Our members are the heart of our community. That's why we are working diligently to bring great news to those who have elevated PMOGA to its undisputed leadership position in the global PMO community.

PMOGA will no longer have independent membership. In other words, all PMI members will have the opportunity to actively participate in our community and benefit from our work.

Consequently, we have ceased offering all PMOGA memberships, including the free Associate Membership and the sale of Regular and Prime Memberships.

All our members with active PMOGA memberships will retain their benefits until the membership expiration date.

We will soon provide more details on the opportunities that will be offered for transitioning from PMOGA Membership to PMI Membership.

Certification

The PMO-CP (PMO Certified Practitioner) and PMO-CC (PMO Certified Consultant) credentials will be integrated into the certification portfolio offered by PMI. Therefore, the credentials already obtained will remain valid.

The integration process requires that the certification processes currently in use by PMOGA be aligned with PMI's rules and procedures. We are actively working on this topic and will soon provide updates if there are any procedural impacts for those who have already initiated the certification process but have not yet completed it.

Significant improvements and innovations in all aspects of our certifications are expected for 2024 to enhance the candidate experience and increase the value of our credentials.

Volunteering

Both PMOGA and PMI rely on volunteering as the foundation of their existence.

During the transition, we will work to ensure that PMOGA incorporates the long and successful volunteer management experience of PMI, incorporating its procedures and requirements while retaining most of our unique approach to engaging people.

We aim to align with the processes and systems offered by PMI, ensuring that we can create increasingly exciting opportunities for our members to volunteer.

PMOGA Hubs

PMOGA Hubs are led by our volunteers and are responsible for developing sub-communities for specific regions or industries.

We are actively working to discuss and adjust the PMOGA Hub model to ensure that they can continue their work while seamlessly integrating with PMI Chapters. Our goal is to avoid any overlap or unintended competition.

While we have not yet disclosed the final model, PMOGA Hubs remain active and continue their operations as usual.

This is a priority topic, and we expect to share more information on it in the first half of Q1 2024.

Partnerships

Many partnership opportunities will arise due to the transition process, encompassing research, innovation, certification, training, events, etc.

These partnership opportunities will be determined through discussions during the transition period, where various operating models for different areas and businesses will be reviewed and defined.

Throughout the transition, we will understand the legal and procedural requirements to ensure that we can establish mutually beneficial partnerships to generate pragmatic value for the global PMO community.

The goal is to have the new partnership guidelines in place by the end of Q1 2024.

PMO Global Awards and Regional Awards

The PMO Global Awards is one of PMOGA's most successful projects and will not undergo significant changes in its competition structure for 2024.

Therefore, the application period, as in previous years, will be from February 1 to April 30, 2024.

The selection process for the Judging Committee is currently under review to align with PMI membership requirements.

The award winners' announcements and the PMO Global Awards Ceremony date will also be disclosed when the application period begins.

The structure of the Regional Awards will be maintained in 2024, following a similar format to the one currently in use.

PMO Value Ring

The PMO Value Ring methodology and its software will remain available to the global PMO community.

We are developing a plan to evolve the methodology and its software, and new versions should be launched in 2024.

Individuals with an active PMOGA Prime membership who are also PMO-CP certified benefit from free access to the PMO Value Ring software.

We are exploring how this benefit will be applied going forward, considering that the sale of new PMOGA memberships has been discontinued.

In Q1 2024, we will provide information on this matter, adequately adapted to PMOGA's new status as part of PMI.

PMOGA Online Community

The PMOGA Online Community platform will remain operational, and a new support structure will be created to enhance its usability significantly.

This will provide a dynamic environment for learning, networking, and knowledge exchange.

It will also serve as the primary home for our Hubs, offering numerous features to support their operations and growth.

Currently, this platform is provided free of charge to all our members, and discussions are ongoing regarding alignment with PMI membership requirements.

It is expected that by the early Q1 2024, the integration process will be completed, and most of the planned improvements will have been implemented.

PMOUNCON - PMOGA World Unconference

The PMOUNCON 2023 last December in Paris was a great success, and our goal is to host its second edition in 2024.

During the transition process, we will discuss the next edition's format, dates, and location, which is expected to introduce more innovative and disruptive features to enhance member and attendee engagement and participation.

By the end of Q1 2024, we should have updates on this matter.
